Stanbic Bank Rewards Customers in SupaDupa Cash Giveaway

Stanbic Bank Uganda has announced the first winners of its ongoing “Kya Double with SupaDupa” campaign, aimed at rewarding customers who actively use their bank accounts. One of the lucky winners, Akugizibwe Annet Mbabazi, received a UGX 1.2 million cheque and shared how the prize came just in time to help pay her child’s school fees.

“I’ve seen people win in other promotions but never believed it. Now I know it’s real,” Mbabazi said, praising the transparency of the campaign and the impact it has had on her life.

Launched in June, the SupaDupa campaign will run until the end of December and is giving out cash prizes totaling UGX 100 million. So far, nearly UGX 25 million has already been awarded to participants who deposit money and actively use their Stanbic accounts.

Sarah Nankumba, the Acacia Branch Manager, explained that the campaign reflects the bank’s mission of supporting the communities it serves. “Uganda is our home, and our growth is driven by supporting our people,” she said. Nankumba encouraged more Ugandans to participate by using Stanbic’s digital banking platforms for transactions and deposits.

She added that opening a Stanbic account is quick and easy, requiring no visit to a physical branch. “Prospective customers can download the bank’s app, scan a QR code on the website, or dial *290# to open an account,” she said. The process is free, takes under five minutes, and only requires a National ID.

Israel Arinaitwe, Head of Personal Banking, said the campaign was inspired by feedback from customers who wanted faster, simpler, and more rewarding banking. He emphasized that account opening is fully digital and paperless, allowing clients to instantly deposit, send, or receive money.

In addition to the cash rewards, Arinaitwe also revealed new credit options. Eligible customers can now access instant loans of up to UGX 5 million anytime, while digital loans of up to UGX 250 million can be approved in just two minutes.

Stanbic Bank continues to encourage customers to transact more for a chance to win, as the campaign moves into its next phase.
