Six EPL Teams Head to Champions League in 2025–26 Season

The 2024–25 English Premier League season ended with dramatic twists, last-minute goals, and emotional scenes across stadiums.

With the final standings confirmed and domestic trophies decided, several Premier League clubs have secured their spots in European competitions for the 2025–26 season. These include the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, and the Conference League.

Champions League (6 Teams)

Six English clubs will play in the UEFA Champions League next season. Five earned their spots through league positions, while one qualified by winning a European trophy.

Liverpool – Under new manager Arne Slot, Liverpool won the Premier League title, ensuring their return to Europe's top-tier competition.

Arsenal – Mikel Arteta’s team finished second after a strong campaign, earning a direct qualification.

Manchester City – Despite an inconsistent season, City defeated Fulham on the final day to finish third.

Chelsea – A late-season revival led by new coach Enzo Maresca saw the Blues beat Nottingham Forest and grab fourth place.

Newcastle United – Although they lost on the last day, Newcastle edged Aston Villa to fifth place on goal difference.

Tottenham Hotspur – Ange Postecoglou's side won the UEFA Europa League, which guarantees a Champions League spot despite not finishing in the top five.

Europa League (2 Teams)

Two Premier League clubs will compete in the UEFA Europa League.

Crystal Palace – In a historic moment for the South London club, Palace lifted the FA Cup and secured Europa League qualification.

Aston Villa – After competing in the Champions League this season, Villa settled for sixth place in the league and will now aim for a strong Europa League run under Unai Emery.

Conference League (1 Team)

Nottingham Forest – Although their season had ups and downs, Forest managed to qualify for the UEFA Conference League. It marks their return to European football, though they had hoped for a higher finish.

With spots now confirmed, English clubs will prepare to represent the Premier League on the European stage in the 2025–26 season, aiming for glory across all three competitions.
