Giuffre's Family Responds to Trump’s Epstein Mar-a-Lago Claim

Virginia Giuffre’s family has reacted to former U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent comments about her connection to Jeffrey Epstein.

In a public statement, Trump claimed that Epstein “stole” Giuffre from his Mar-a-Lago resort, where she had worked. The remark came as Trump discussed the reasons for his falling out with the late financier, who was widely accused of sex trafficking and abuse before his death in 2019.

Trump's mention of Giuffre—one of the most prominent accusers in the Epstein case—has drawn renewed attention to her story and the circumstances under which she first met Epstein.

Giuffre has long stated that she was recruited by Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s longtime associate, while working at Mar-a-Lago as a teenager. According to Giuffre, Maxwell lured her into Epstein’s circle under the false promise of massage therapy training, which later led to years of sexual abuse and trafficking.

Trump’s suggestion that Epstein “stole” her from Mar-a-Lago has prompted strong reactions from her family. While they have not released a formal statement with detailed rebuttals, they have expressed concern over the former president’s framing of events. Giuffre’s legal team has also pointed out that Trump’s comments risk downplaying the seriousness of the allegations she and others have made against Epstein and his associates.

CBS News correspondent Scott MacFarlane reported on the family's response and noted that it comes at a time when Epstein’s legacy continues to cast a shadow over prominent public figures, including Trump, who had once been socially linked to the disgraced financier.

While Trump has denied any involvement in Epstein’s criminal activities, his name has repeatedly surfaced in discussions about the broader network of powerful individuals connected to Epstein and Maxwell. Giuffre’s claims have also implicated other high-profile men, including Britain's Prince Andrew, who later settled a lawsuit she filed against him.

The resurfacing of these comments and reactions from Giuffre’s family once again highlight the enduring impact of Epstein’s crimes—and the continuing legal and political questions surrounding those who were part of his orbit.
