Offset has requested spousal support from his estranged wife Cardi B, marking a surprising turn in their ongoing divorce case.
The latest court filings show the Migos rapper submitted an amended divorce petition asking Cardi B for financial support. While he did not specify the amount, the request has sparked widespread online discussion, especially given the pair's high public profiles and history together.
Cardi B, known for hits like Bodak Yellow, initially filed for divorce in August 2024 after seven years of marriage. At the time, both agreed to handle their legal fees individually. However, Offset’s recent request signals a shift in the financial aspects of the divorce, especially since Cardi B is estimated to have a net worth of $80–$100 million, while Offset's is reportedly around $30 million.
Despite the financial request, Offset has agreed that their children’s primary residence should remain with Cardi B. He is, however, seeking joint custody, which suggests that the couple might still find common ground when it comes to co-parenting.
Their divorce has played out publicly, with both artists addressing their issues on social media. Cardi B has previously expressed frustration, accusing Offset of not offering enough support during their marriage. Meanwhile, Offset has largely focused on his music career, occasionally teasing new projects online.
Offset’s spousal support request has ignited strong reactions on social media. Many users criticized the move, pointing to Offset’s alleged cheating as the main reason the marriage ended. Comments ranged from disbelief to anger, with users questioning why he would seek support when he doesn’t have primary custody of the children and was reportedly the cause of the breakup.
One user wrote, “Cheating on a woman who had three of your kids just to turn around and request spousal support is crazy.” Another added, “How he think he gone get spousal support when he the reason for the marriage FINALLY ending.”
As the divorce proceedings continue, the court will ultimately decide whether Offset’s request will be granted. Until then, the split between two of hip-hop’s biggest names remains under the spotlight.
