Oreo and Coca-Cola have joined forces to release a limited-edition cookie in Kenya, blending the flavors of two iconic global brands. The Oreo x Coca-Cola Sandwich cookie, part of the "Besties" campaign, is a tribute to friendship and will be available from September 2024 to February 2025. This special release is meant to inspire the celebration of friendship through a unique flavor combination and engaging digital experiences.
The cookie itself features Oreo's signature chocolate base, filled with a Coca-Cola-flavored white crème and topped with red edible glitter. Both the Oreo and Coca-Cola logos are prominently displayed on the cookies, making them instantly recognizable. The idea behind this collaboration is to combine the familiar tastes of both brands in a way that reflects the strong bonds of friendship, which is the core theme of the campaign.
"We're thrilled to bring this exciting collaboration between two of the world's top brands to Kenya," said Francis Kathoka, Country Manager for Kenya at Mondelēz International, the company behind Oreo. "The Oreo x Coca-Cola Sandwich cookie was inspired by the strong bonds of friendship, and we will be celebrating 'besties' across the country with not only a tasty cookie but also a series of engaging digital experiences."
The campaign goes beyond just the cookie. Oreo is partnering with Spotify to launch the "Bestie Mode Digital Experience," an interactive platform designed for friends to connect over their shared love of music. By scanning a QR code found on the Oreo x Coca-Cola Limited Edition pack, friends can sync their music preferences and enjoy curated playlists together, further enhancing the theme of friendship. This initiative adds a digital twist to the experience, making it more than just about enjoying the cookie.
The Oreo x Coca-Cola Sandwich cookie will be available in major supermarkets across Kenya, giving fans a chance to indulge in this limited-edition treat while participating in the broader celebration of friendship. With its unique flavor and interactive campaign, the Oreo x Coca-Cola collaboration promises to offer something special for both cookie lovers and Coca-Cola fans alike.
