Iga Swiatek delivered a flawless performance to win her first Wimbledon title on Saturday, beating Amanda Anisimova 6-0, 6-0 in a one-sided final. The dominant victory not only gave her a sixth Grand Slam title but also proved her growing versatility across different playing surfaces.
The 24-year-old Polish star, known for her clay court dominance, had already won four French Open titles in the last six years. She also claimed the US Open title in 2022 on hard court, but grass had remained a challenge — until now. Swiatek had never made it past the quarter-finals at Wimbledon before this year, but she broke that barrier and powered through the tournament with confidence.
Her final match against Anisimova was a showcase of experience, control, and aggressive tennis. Anisimova, who appeared overwhelmed by the occasion, struggled to respond as Swiatek took full command of the game from the first point. The result was a rare double bagel — two sets won 6-0 — highlighting Swiatek’s sharp form and composure on grass.
Swiatek had reached her first grass court final just last month at Bad Homburg, a result that gave her momentum heading into Wimbledon. Speaking after her victory at the All England Club, Swiatek admitted she had not expected such a dominant run on grass. “After the French Open, I was a little surprised with my level here. Grass has always been tricky for me,” she said.
She also reflected on how her past experiences helped her manage pressure during the tournament. “I relied on my experience to get through the tough moments,” she noted. Despite her previous Grand Slam wins, Swiatek said this one felt “a little more special” because it came on a surface she had worked hard to master.
With this win, Swiatek has now captured Grand Slam titles on all three major surfaces — clay, hard, and grass — confirming her place among the elite in women’s tennis. The commanding nature of her Wimbledon victory sends a strong message: Iga Swiatek is no longer just the Queen of Clay — she’s now a complete champion.
