Biden Finishes Radiation Therapy in Prostate Cancer Treatment

U.S. President Joe Biden has completed a round of radiation therapy as part of his ongoing treatment for prostate cancer, the White House confirmed this week. The announcement comes as the president continues to balance his health care with his duties in office.

Biden, 82, underwent the treatment following a medical evaluation that revealed the presence of prostate cancer. According to the White House medical team, the therapy was part of a planned treatment process and was completed without complications. Officials emphasized that the president remains in good health and is able to continue performing his responsibilities without interruption.

Radiation therapy is a common procedure used to target and destroy cancerous cells in the prostate. Biden’s doctors said the treatment was administered as a preventive measure after earlier tests and screenings detected cancerous tissue. They noted that the therapy was localized, meaning it focused specifically on the affected area and did not require more invasive procedures.

The White House has maintained transparency about the president’s health, providing updates to reassure the public about his condition. Officials said Biden experienced only mild side effects from the therapy and has since resumed his regular schedule, including official meetings and engagements.

Biden’s medical team has previously described him as a “healthy, active, and robust” individual for his age. The completion of radiation therapy, they added, marks an important step in managing the condition and reducing the risk of recurrence.

Prostate cancer is among the most common cancers in men, particularly those over the age of 50. In the United States, early detection through regular screening has significantly improved recovery rates. Biden’s openness about his treatment has drawn praise from health advocates, who say it helps raise awareness about the importance of regular checkups and early intervention.

The president is expected to continue routine monitoring and follow-up evaluations, as is standard after such treatment. Officials reiterated that there is no sign the illness has spread or affected his overall fitness for office.

With this phase of therapy complete, Biden is expected to continue his presidential duties as normal while maintaining close communication with his medical team for ongoing care.
