King Kalala Exits NRG Radio After Notable Tenure, Promises New Ventures

NRG Radio presenter Prudence Tonui, widely known as King Kalala, has officially announced her departure from the station. Kalala shared the news in a statement on October 8, 2024, expressing that the decision to leave was a tough one, but she is optimistic about what lies ahead.

Kalala expressed her gratitude to fans and colleagues who have supported her throughout her time at NRG Radio. She emphasized that while it’s the end of her chapter at NRG, she is looking forward to new opportunities and will reveal her next steps soon. “After much thought, I have decided to part ways with NRG Radio. This decision wasn’t easy, but I believe it’s time for me to explore new directions and focus on exciting new ventures ahead,” read part of her statement.

She also extended her thanks to her fans, saying, “To all my fans; I want to thank each and every one of you for your unwavering support and enthusiasm throughout this journey. Your belief in me and what I do has meant the world.”

Additionally, Kalala took a moment to acknowledge her colleagues, expressing her appreciation for the teamwork and growth she experienced at the station. “To my colleagues; Thank you all for being a part of this magical ride! I’m beyond grateful for all the opportunities I’ve had to grow and collaborate with such a talented group.”

Until her exit, Kalala was a host on the “NRG Transit Queens” show alongside Kamene Goro and Kapinto. She was also known for co-hosting the popular morning program, “The B Club” show, where she worked with a team known as the ‘3 Men Army.’ Her unique voice, candid stance on relationship topics, and magnetic personality made her a standout figure on Kenyan radio.

Kalala’s exit comes shortly after another NRG presenter, Natalie Githinji, left the station following five years of hosting. Despite this back-to-back departure of notable figures, Kalala reassured her fans to "stay tuned," promising that exciting news about her next steps will be shared soon.

With Kalala’s departure, NRG Radio bids farewell to one of its boldest voices, leaving fans curious about what’s next for the dynamic presenter.
