Egyptian weightlifter Sarah Samir has won a silver medal at the Paris Olympics, continuing her legacy as a top competitor. Her journey includes being the first Arab woman to win an Olympic weightlifting medal. This latest achievement adds to her decorated career and highlights her enduring dedication and skill in the sport. At the age of eleven, she participated in her first championship and achieved first place, quickly joining the Egyptian weightlifting team despite her young age. At the age of 18, Samir sacrificed her high school exams in order to join the Egyptian weightlifting team camp in Uzbekistan, in preparation for participating in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics in Brazil. She managed to win the bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics in weightlifting for the 68 kg weight class. With this win, Samir became the youngest Egyptian to ever win an Olympic medal at the age of 18.
